If Six Women Can't Find It; It's Lost!

From 38 degrees last week to rain and jumpers this week .... Summer seems to have made a dramatic exit in Donald! But regardless of what Mother Nature is doing, The Room soldiers on...
Firstly, this photo is several weeks late but Dadaaaaa!!! Tennille's first quilt for her beloved nephew Zachariah...
Tennille now has to get going on some more because the boys are now fighting over who gets this quilt!

Pam came along and showed us some of the stunning creations she has been working on. Check out this amazing wall hanging...
The detail in this is extraordinary. Here's a close-up of some of the free motion detail that adds such texture...

Pam has also 'whipped up' a gorgeous bag...
Pam is also a bit dangerous to our bank balance as she came bearing news of a fabulous new quilt shop in Ballarat and a brochure of a quilter's retreat... Hmmmm....
Our group project quilt has been quilted by Yours Truly and the binding attached....

and I finally finished off Ollie's library bag. Fortunately it has his name on it in case there is another one at Kinder the same...
But the main focus of last night was to finish off the Giant Jelly-Roll Cushion, ready for raffle on Friday...
The process started smoothly enough. We made piping and backing...
We stuffed and sewed....

Now all that was left was to add the buttons that give the cushion its shape. The big beautiful blue buttons that cost a bomb and were bought especially for this project... There are two... there WERE two...and now there is only one....
Six women searched The Room... and we had a Mother's Look... We moved things and searched through bins and buckets and tubs and handbags... we searched everywhere....

The button is NOT to be found... We all know it will turn up. Can and I are meeting on Tuesday to finish off the Giant Cushion with (most likely unmatching) buttons so no doubt, the missing button will surface on Wednesday!
So here is the cushion in its current state...
The night finished with us helping Dot unpin her gorgeous ZigZag quilt ready for phase two quilting...
and we returned to other projects (for some of us, that was bed). Ros did some more blocks for Edie's quilt...
Ros still has yet to decide on her final design but she has some ideas... When I can work out how to get photos off my phone we shall post them.
Have a great week.
