While the Members of The Room in Victoria have been wiping snotty noses and trying to keep warm, The Western Australian branch has been very productive... roll on the warmer weather!
I have a lot of UFO’s (Un Finished Object’s) around my house. Every now and then I stumble
(sometimes literally) around these projects or have to move a few of them to
get to other things. At such times, I
usually have an internal conversation about how I really must get finish these
so that I gain my space back.
Those that know me well, know that I am a little on the organized side
and that in order for me to work creatively I need structure. Some function with structure, some
without. I decided the other day that
enough was enough. So I am working at
finishing my UFO’s. The first UFO was a
scarf I started in 2010! I made my
daughter one during the winter of 2010 and then started mine and then
stopped. It came out again in 2011 and
went away again. I recently pulled it
out, did about 20 rows and it has been sitting next to my chair since
then. So on Thursday at 4.30pm I picked
it up and went at it, on and off. I
finished it about 8.30pm. Friday was
very cold here, but as the kids and I walked to school, I was nice and warm
with my new scarf.
Next on the list is using up some material that I seem to be acquiring
again. I buy odds and ends at Spotlight
thinking that I will make them into Barbie clothes for my daughter. That isn’t happening so it is time to come up
with new ideas and reduce the pile.
I finally got around to finishing a box full of hair ties for my
daughter. A few years back I made some dividers
do keep the colour ties separate – especially helpful with school ties and
dance ties. However, I never stuck the
dividers down and eventually they would fall over and create a large messy that
I had to sort out. So I finally got the
hot glue gun out and away I went.
So I got a few UFO’s
finished. Now for the others! The pile never seems to end J
